INTRODUCTION

HELLO WORLD!

So you've made it, pull up a chair and I'll tell you a tale. For more than 10 years I have worked as a professional graphic and website designer. My qualifications include a BA in Visual Art and an Advanced Diploma in Electronic Design and Interactive Media. Like most designers I have worked on a range of projects including logo designs, brochures, packaging, advertising, magazine and catalogue design, website design and development in addition to providing the aesthetics behind Red Clay’s web presence.

Three things you may (or may not, depending on motive) need to know about me.
1. I like white space;
2. I hate extremely immensely dislike comic sans; and
3. I agree, style guides ARE useful tools.

About a year ago I picked up a camera out of necessity to photograph product images. Working with a professional (Canon) camera, soft light box, trigger flash and photo tent tantalised my taste buds. I fell in love with the seamlessness of art directing, shooting, and using these elements in my work.

A few months back I purchased a Nikon D90. I thought it would be fun, and boy, is it ever! Photography + Photoshop = Oh La La! I'm saving my pennies for an 85mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor. In photography circles this lens is known as the 'cream machine', named aptly for the glorious bokeh! Watch out world!

I still paint. Portraits mostly. Oils. I mentioned I have a BA in Visual Arts - majoring in sculpture and painting. Infact, this and writing (fiction) is what I spend most of my spare time doing. The truth is, I just love creating stuff, whether it's weaving words, tweaking adjustment layers in photoshop to get the perfect effect, or slapping a bit of oil on a canvas. I live it. Breathe it.

'Call me'.
